Hello.

I have purchased the Planar px2230mw monitor to use on an older machine for touch screen application. Multi-touch isnt neccesary, so since Planar had a BETA release driver for XP, I thought I would be pretty safe since my tech level is relatively high.

Now, I'm stumped.

The install files for all of the HP, Planar, and Elo touch screens for XP seem to reference something called Taction Touch drivers. This package is not available in the install packages themselves, but they all seem to be referencing that location and error out when they don't find it.

Does anyone have any ideas they'd care to share? I'm trying very hard to find something that puts these Taction files in place.

Did you extract all the files and see if the dll or inf or whatever it's looking for is there?

7Zip program does a good job of extracting files from .cab containers and such.

I have setup Planar touch monitors on XP before, jut not those models. Maybe try a different model driver and see if it has what you need?

Success. I logged in as Administrator and installed a 1.4 version of the Quanta driver from an HP monitor. I've updated to the 1.5 version from Planar now.

Stupid rookie mistake. I thought the account I was using had Admin privelages.

Please explain further how you made the Planar px2230mw work with Windows 8. I am now on the Consumer Preview edition.

Thank you!
