Hello,

I have a PlayStation 5 (normal version with cd) and i want to expand my memory with 1TB SSD but in my country there is no licensed 300$ WD x PlayStation M.2 SSD so i immediately started searching for alternatives and found SAMSUNG SSD 980 PRO 1TB NVMe M.2 2280 and because this is my first time having a console (i'm a PC guy) i don't want to screw something up by buying not compatible SSD for my PS5. I was searching the net some people say it's not compatible some say it is so i was wondering have someone tried this SSD and how it's working so far?

Thanks in advance!

Any thing gen 4 will work ive personally got a firecuda 530 2tb in my PS5
using a sabrent rocket m.2 heat sink which only just squeezes in there BUT

ElecGear PS5 NVMe SSD Heatsink is purpose made for the non slim ps5 and doesnt foul with anything..

You will have no issues with the 980pro , WD850x , firecuda 530 even 990 pro would work as well ..
like i said ANY gen 4 m.2 will work just buy a decent heat sink and your good if it doesnt come with one..

But dont buy a rubbish gen 4 ssd ..

The only regret i have is not going 4tb im at my limit with 2tb and the small on board m.2 !!
