I created a build on pcpartpicker to FINALLY make the jump to Intel processors. I have been stuck with the same below average AMD FX 4300 for upwards of 4 years now and I know $500 is a very low budget. Anyways I don't have much of a question, rather a plea for help! I'm not a super novice building computers, but from these parts I don't know if there are any compatibility issues and would just like any general critiques on the system!

Neither system will post unless you get very lucky and they have an updated bios. 60gb is just too small. The psu is not good. The VS is the worst quality psu Corsair has.

If you absolutely can't go over $500 drop the i3 7100 for a pentium G4560. Add a 120gb or larger ssd later. SSD prices are rather high right now due to the nand shortage.

yes and no. the most common thing people have been getting screwed over on lately is the skylake/kaby lake confusion. same cpu socket so they are technically compatible, but you have to have the skylake cpu in it first, update bios version, then you can use a kaby lake cpu. same architecture, but really meant for people upgrading from skylake to kaby lake. pcpartpicker has fked so many ppl up over this and needs to fix it

I only picked a 600w power supply because it had a rebate making it $30. If it goes off of sale before I buy it I'll go down to a 430 watt or something

it's the quality that people will scoff at. that is a super-ultra-omega entry level psu. aka cheaply made. i have a cx500 which people even scoff at, and it's a step above that one. i also got it for $30 after rebate. learn from my mistake and select a better power supply. there are a few highly-reputable ones at the $50 mark. I now wish i would have bought atleast a semi-modular one. also, for what it's worth, the 24pin connector on my corsair power supply is the tightest fit i've ever seen, definitely risky every time i connect/disconnect it

I am not trying to be rude, I'm just curious.
Why did you pick 2x4 set of 8gb of ram at 2400 when I picked 1x8? Does it being on two sticks make it quicker?
Why did you change the motherboard out?

For reference this is my 'new' parts list: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/SquishyFish/saved/JtLjXL

I went with a B250 board because they support Kaby Lake cpus out of the box. The older 100 series boards require an updated bios and if either of those h110 boards has an older bios(very likely) the system will be a brick.

2x4gb sticks operating in dual channel is faster than 1 8gb stick in single channel.

Will handle anything you throw at it 1080p 60fps high settings with some anti-aliasing settings turned down a bit. i bet this build can handle 1440p on medium with no problem too.
