i sold my old system for 500 bucks canadian.. kinda cheap, but i hate it when ppl overcharge for used computer parts.

heh, there was a p3600 with 128m/ram and a voodoo3 for 800 bucks (sans monitor) in the local paper today , for example

I'm still pushing my old P3.

It's fine not to beleive in 3DMark. But what's wrong with knowing your 3DMark score? IMO, it doesn't hurt to know things that you don't beleive

I dont know. Its oc'd to 380 (VPU) and 330 (Memory). That is my score though with catalyst 3.1's. Havent tried it with 3.2's yet.

If its not broken, you're not trying hard enough.

Regards to all,

"your red white and blue is murdering civilians btw"

What does this have to do about showing your systems and 3dmark scores -_-

"What kind of idiot are you?"
"I don't know, what kinds are there?"

Ah i see, its o/c more than my 9700pro (337/337), thats why your getting that score, still thats not a bad o/c. I only wish mine would o/c better, it maxes out at about 350/344 with lots of artifacts 🙁

you guys using stock cooling and rage3d to oc your 9700's? Ive been able to take mine up a bit, but have been a bit cautious cause its a new card.

3dMark2001SE score: 8521

My motherboard is holding me back on the 3dmark score, but the system runs everything smoothly unless I turn on more than 2x antialiassing, which my Radeon doesn't like so much...

I cut up this big P2 alminum heat sink into chip size pieces and mixed epxoy with thermal compound and glued them to the ram. I also have an 80mm fan blowing right on the AGP slot.

Main rig is a dual win98 and W2k with VMware running Red Hat 7.1, Red Hat 8.0, W2K Advanced Server and WinXP.
Server 1 is dual OpenBSD and W2K Advanced Server running RH 8 and 7.3
Server 2 is sorta trippel in that the Seagates are in trays and I switch between them. One runs Netware 5.1 and another is a dual boot with w2kAS and Red Hat 7.3.

What's it all for? Linux and W2k servers are for work and study purposes, Netware because I occasionally have to support it, and my main rig for everything else. None of the servers run anything critical, but are useful for play and learning. Oh, and I once accidentaly brought down my CO including SBC's connection to the ISP. OOPS! (It was their fault and they acctually thanked me for finding the weakness).

That's it.

Poor windows was not a brave soul. Threatened by the force of General Protection and Major Problem the little OS committed suicide by hanging.

Man, this thread is HUuuuge!, some of you guy's are really into modding, and strange cooling methods...something I dont hear getting discussed much on the graphics forum. I really dig on seeing a large thread, where everybody participates and gets along. Even though I am a member of other forums, I have always considered this to be my home...not because it's Toms Hardware, but because this is where the people I like, and feel comfortable around, hang out..

To err is human... to really screw things up you need a computer!

Ok along the Lines of the worst, here are my 3 entrants from the Computer Cottage Crypt (aka attic).

Timex Sinclair (ZX-81) 4kROM/1kbRAM memory, graphics card are you kidding?, 16 kb cartridge memory, plus tape drive connector (never used), add time pilot game cartridge.

Commodore P.E.T. WITH Tape Drive. External 8" Floppy (used from IBM).

ORIGINAL IBM PC, 2 5.25" floppies, no HD, plus the time consuming chip by chip upgrade to 256KB Ram, GamePort, Electrohome CGA monitor, Original IBM PCPG 9pin Graphics Printer.

Yes I also had an Apple ][plus, but it's technically still in a friend's basement.

Anywhoo, hope that breathed some more life into the thread and gave some of you a smile (especially those of you who remember the phrase "Press Play on Tape 1"

- You need a licence to buy a gun, but they'll sell anyone a stamp (or internet account) ! RED GREEN  GA to SK

ok, I didn't start this.

I also possess the following:

Sinclair ZX Spectrum
zilog z-80 (3.75 Mhz)
16k ram
8k rom (many eproms were used to customize the "sisop"!)
tape device

I'm having flashbacks right now!

I almost forgot to mention the following:

Commodore Amiga 500
Motorola 68000 (8Mhz)
Workbench 1.3 (fortunately, no Kickstart disk!!!)
Agnus, Paula and Denise (my first girls) ah ah ah!

They certainly rocked until Pentiums arrived... ;o)
