Hi all i'm still doing my course but i'm stuck on a few questions, here they are.

1. Using 4-bit binary, encode 9 and 14 into MFM

2. Using 4-bit binary, is it possible to encode 5 into MFM without a preceding digit? Why?

Thanx alot to everyone who helps

what are you specifically asking? do you want the answers, the explanation or what?

typically the best answer is to look it up and work it out for yourself. of course this is not the answer you are looking for.

What part of the questions do you not get, or is it all greek?

then since your are I guess using a PC to type this, I'd suggest, Start>Run>calc.exe

Set calculator to view\scientific mode.

type in the number to be converted and then select the Bin radio button. Voila! Instand decimal/octal/binary/hex conversions at your fingertips....

You should be able to fill in the gaps from there.
