🙂 Borrowed another working modem from a friend's Win
XP computer and this was immediately recognised. Guess that the one I was
trying to install was incompatible. Yes, I did try other PCI slots and there
was no onboard modem to turn off. Nor was there a video card to NOT put the
modem next to. IRQ's were also set to Auto. Here endeth my odyssey.
