Hi,

I'm a fan of the IBM deskstar - but...

Anyone had issues with quality? I'm constantly ripping and rebuilding my system, and the other evening found that two of the power connecting tabs, back right, that attach the molex connector to the board were off.

The drive is only a year old - anyone else had poor quality?

When I looked at them, they were just sprung metal 'tangs' lightly spot soldered onto a contact on the board. I checked my maxtors and they are heftily soldered in, no way they are going anywhere.

Not the end of the world, a little soldering fixed it, but I was dissapointed with IBM for making a poor connector.

StorageReview.com stated that IBM actually manufacture the 75 GPX series hard drive in many different country. The drives from some country have quality problem.
