Question Possible to power a motherboard with adaptor instead of PSU?

Hi, I'm trying to build a small computer out of old parts. Is there any way of powering a motherboard with some kind of adaptor from the mains power? Instead of a traditional PSU?

A PSU IS the 'adapter'.

You might be able to use a pico-psu like this:

You will need a separate power brick.

^ I was also going to suggest a Pico, but at that point it is pretty much a PSU anyway.

An asus h81m-plus, old intel i3 CPU, 8gb DDR4 ram, and a Zotac graphics card
