POST Codes

I recently started having a little trouble with my computer. I'm pretty sure it's just some screwed up hardware, but it's impossible for me to tell exactly what is screwed up (my other computer's components aren't compatable with this one's, so I can't do much with trial and error).

Can anyone tell me how I find the POST beep codes for an ASUS P4R800-VM motherboard? They're nowhere in the documentation that came with it, and I can't find them anywhere on asus.com. I tried emailing their technical support (asking nothing but what beeps mean what) but have yet to get anything but a worthless automated reply addressing everything except for my question.

It's a long shot, but failing the information on where to look, does anyone know off-hand what two short beeps followed by six regular beeps indicates with this board? The computer stops booting up after only a second or so, and the monitor doesn't display anything (the light turns orange, which is its "turned on.. only not" mode that happens when it's recieving nothing from the PC).

Try hooking up the system speaker. I believe your board has an obnoxius btch who tells you what the problem is.
Failing that, it would most likely be ram or video. Make sure they are seated properly.

Nah.. no voice reporter, heh.

I've removed and replaced both the video card and RAM. I've also tried starting the computer with no RAM installed at all, and got a different beep code (a series of really long ones), so I don't think the memory is a problem. I don't believe that the video card is causing it either, since I get the exact same problem whether the monitor is plugged into the video card or the motherboard (with the AGP card removed).

I simply can't fathom why these damned beep codes are not included in any documentation..
