yeah, that would be good.
If you had seen the Valve graphics pole, the 9800, 9600 and geforce4 series contribute the majority.

Unless those guys have updated all that stuff, its good to see the numbers on all those cards.

What resolution was that? I have only tested at 1280x1024 so far. Some of them my P4 2.6C/R9800 pro keeps up with you, other timedemos like Prison, you destroy me.

I was just curious. Any resolution will work for posting, as long as you state which one it is. But thanks for doing the extra work for me at 1280x1024 also for comparison sake.

Any Ti4200 or Radeon 8500 owners want to share their DX8/8.1 performance #'s with us?

Amazing in those benchies how CPUs actually limit the potential so much. In HL2, I'm convinced that a faster CPU is above all needed. Actually I wonder if HL2 isn't relying more on CPU than DOOM III and thus allows for increased performance?

I'll ask my bro to run a benchmark if he can. Got a link to how to do it all? (like, a one page with all the checklist to run them exactly like you guys?)

Our system's a weak one nowadays: Ti200, 1.4GHZ AXP and 512MB RAM. That should serve as a nice "low end system" comparison. Consider this too, our average commit charge nowadays is 500MB when not running games.

If you see above (8th post), I have mentioned how to bench.
I have uploaded all the demo files to my personal space and you can download all from there. Secure link is also given above.

I uses 1280*1024 because thats my native LCD reso. But people can use others, whatever suits them best.

ANd we do need low end comparison. Thanks.

Yeah pirya broke down the steps of benching and even offered a link that features all the demos we all used to bench. Nice job on that pirya, your steps and links made it simple and easy :)

Our three timedemos can be downloaded here:

<A HREF="http://www.rivastation.com/temp/thg-hl2-timedemos.zip" target="_new">THG HL2 Timedemos (1,6MB)</A>

I might change them in the future. I did not play through all the game yet so I might find additional scenes for benchmarking.

@priyajeet

Yeah, I know... but it was more fun to me that way. It gives you some extra time to enjoy the environment. I must admid that I was a bit bored in that part of the game. The hover racing was too long for my taste.

Haha, lol.
After you finish the game, make sure to use cheats and get the Advanced Organic Gravity gun in the earlier stages. Its fun. Though I am done with the game, its fun to play around.

I liked the out of ammo scramble in THG5. I just played that part tonight, and watching that timedemo afterwards was almost making me jump and scroll for a loaded weapon. Then it occured to me it's a timedemo, just sit and watch.
