With the few hours I've had my new setup, I've gotten a stable 3.2 out of my E4300 at 1.45 volts...It may or may not need this much voltage as I still have the speed step enabled...which just might be the reason for the instability I've seen. I'll have to disable it and continue testing. I'm VERY happy with my CPU purchase.

Turning off speedstep should definately help. Congratulations on your OC! Could you list the batch # of your CPU? (Located on the sticker on the outside of the retail box) Thanks 8)

Wanted to see where my chip would go if I actually did give it some juice.
+.1 to NB
+.2 to memory
+.1 to PCIe with PCIe freq @ 102
388x9 for 3.492ghz
Actual Idle Vcore 1.44 (1.475 in Bios)

Now do you think I'm going to load TAT at 100% with this cooling? I don't think so

Edit: This would make getting better cooling worth it 8)

Edit: LOL Im going to have to reload my pics into photobucket. My wife went on one of those "We don't need this anymore- lemme delete it" kicks

I sure will...as soon as I get to the house.

Attached sig to show my system. It's watercooled BTW, hovers around 40C full load per Asus probe.

Im going to have to reload all my pics LOL  . My wife decided to clean out all my 'extra pics' in photobucket. I've still got them on my comp though.

OCing this chip has been really enjoyable. I got a pretty decent chip overall. Actual load Vcore of 1.344 gets me 3.2ghz (9x356) orthos stable, 1.408 gets me 3.31ghz (9x368) orthos stable (too hot- 66-68c per CT0.94 -for long term though with this HSF), 1.44 load gets me 3492mhz (orthos untested till I get better cooling)

I have a system based around a C2D e4300 (LS9TB Q705A195) now cooled by an AC 7 Pro air cooler, on an Abit IB9 MB with DDR2 PC6400 memory. I put this system together a few months ago and I have very happy with it. However I would like to see if I can increase the performance a little further but have been unable to do so without assistance. While I have read a lot about it, I am still a VERY rudimentary over-clocker. I am not sure if I have reached the capabilities of the hardware or just my ability to over-clock.

System is currently running a 340 bus speed x 9 multiplier resulting in 3060 Mhz. I could run 340x8 when setting N/B strap=1066 and cpu:dram=800 (2:3) but still couldn't get higher than that, even when maxing MCH voltage to 1.45. Whenever I try to increase the bus speed further it will generally boot but the bus will show either the previous setting or will revert to 199. I have experimented with many settings but I lack some basic understandings of how some of the settings interact, such as the memory speed.

Here are some settings I have been using. I am not sure this is right but when I change it I generally get bad results, like no post, the machine screaming and have to reset CMOS. I have also tried upping voltages and this has not helped. I might be able to back off on some of the voltage at current settings, I'm not sure, I will experiment with that later if I can't increase the bus any further. I am particularly unsure about top two settings below as I don't understand them and they don't LOOK right to me, but again, this is what has yielded my best results to far. I currently idle at around 47 degrees and load at 60. Also I do not see a memory multiplier setting which I often see referred to, I am thinking this is probably the equivalent of my setting “ CPU😀RAM”.

340x9=3060
N/B stap CPU as: PSB 1066
DRAM spec (CPU😀RAM) DDR2 533 (1:1)
CPU voltage: 1.4
Ram voltage: 2
MCH voltage: 1.4

Any suggestions on other setting combination I might want to try?
Thanks so much !

wow, i thought i was the only one playing with an ib9 and an e4300.
Don't see much about this board 'cept bad reviews
I've pushed mine on stock cooling and voltages to 2520mhz 280*9
core temp shows 67c load 31c idle 8 hrs orthos
Was thinking about better cooling, but i'm pretty happy as it is 40% overclock not to shabby.

blueorange ive set my strap to 1333/ ram 667 =1:1 still running stock vcore1.325 ram i upped to 1.85
all other voltages are default
got a new ac freezer 7 pro orthos 14hrs 52c
don't remember if that strap was there before i updated my bios to 1.3.
iguess i've bumped a dead old thread oops 8)

Still here, system still stable, been about a year now. Not bad for such a high oc.

Debating between th E6750 and the E8400 right now, matched with a GA EP35 board.. But may wait for the E8500 3.2, first C2D to go over 3.

Only Hope it will clock well, being Im at 3.24 now ;-)

Upgraded my gpu, got a pny 8800gt 512

Kicks ass!

i believe this is 370x9 or 375x9, had mine there before...

Just wasnt stable for very long c/o orthos....

3240 is 360x9 stable 24/7 on air (arctic freezer)
