[SOLVED] Power cables for PSU to GPU

In summary, I have a new pc build with a gtx 1660 that has an 8 pin power slot, my modular psu has only a 6 pin pre attached cable and doesn't power the card, will I be able to use an 8 pin male cable plugged into the vga slots on the psu?

I wouldnt advice doing that since if the psu usually doesnt come with an 8pin its not a good idea trying to DIY yourself a working GPU. It might fry it since the psu doesnt have the capability to power your card in the first place.

That PSU has 2 8-pin(6+2) pci-e connectors.

CONNECTOR QUANTITY 24 Pin ATX 1x EPS (CPU) 1x8pin(4+4) PCIe 2x 8pin (6+2), 6pin SATA 7x Four-Pin Peripheral 3x Floppy 1x That PSU does have PCIe 2x 8pin (6+2). The cable have writing on it. The one you want is "PCIE". You plug the 8 pin side to your PSU and the 6+2 pin on your GPU.
