I recently built a new computer to replace an old P4.

x6800
eVGA 680i MB
2 - GB Corsair RAM
HD
Samsung DVD RW

I'm trying to view movies that were burned and images stored using Alcohal 120% But I keep getting a memory error of can't read location or something. Anyone know if Power DVD 5 needs a patch to work with a dual core processor?

If I have to upgrade any suggestions on a good or better DVD Player?

Media Center worked for about 5 minuites and then crashed. I can't get it to read any image DVD's. I did change the multiplier from 11x to 12x and then back. Did I screw something up? Should I just uninstall everything and start over?

I want to overclock eventually. Can I overclock with existing software and data already installed?

Before the multiplier was at 11x it was defaulted at 7x. I don't remeber if it was before or after I installed Power DVD5 but even then I did try uninstalling it and reinstalling ... same error.

Have you tried viewing a regular DVD? I've used PowerDVD 5 on dual core PCs without a problem.
