[SOLVED] Power supply green light blinks when power on button pressed

I have a hp z230 system which stopped working all of a sudden i was browsing around and then suddenly it turned off and started beeping 4 times again and again. I have noticed when i press the power switch the green light on the PSU blinks for a split second then turns off it turns on for a few seconds whenever i press the power button.
The power supply is proprietary and has 18pin motherboard connection.I do have a spare Psu but it has 24pin motherboard connector. Should i try the blow a hair dryer trick on the power supply or no?
The PC Used to work fine for the 3months that i was using it.

The green light means its plugged in, the 4 beeps mean it's overloaded(you system needs more than it provides)
