[citation][nom]Tindytim[/nom]Wouldn't it have made more sense to the Mini-Display Ports sideways and fit all twelve without taking another of my precious expansion slots?[/citation]
Even if the ports could be spaced close enough together to fit them all on one slot, I think there would not be enough room to plug all the cables in.

[citation][nom]dogman_1234[/nom]That is an option bit can your case handle it? Also more than one? Are yo trying to create a movie theatre. For those who are willing to spenf money...this is what I would recommend: Get a good 60" plasma TV and hook the sucker up. That way you have alot of visual space and a lack of pannel frames.[/citation]
yeah, but there is no 7000 x 3500ish resolution monitor

hmmm I wonder if overkill would be the right word to use here... no, I think there might be something stronger like: SWEET ZOMBIE JESUS THEY'VE GONE INSANE!

@ Dogman, people are starving in Africa is probably due to them not producing anything of value. People who create something they can sell, do not starve. And what about the poor people at ATI?, and PowerColor?, are they supposed to starve, so we can give someone a handout.

Why shouldnt I support people by getting an awesome product, instead of supporting people by simply handing them my hard earned money?

Now take your hippy BS and go live in Africa. The rest of us will continue to create wealth for ourselves, then spread that wealth by spending it on cool stuff like 5970 graphics cards!

dogman, have you used dual display before? Get a second monitor and then say that it's not vastly superior to a single monitor. Play a game on Eyefinity with 3 monitors and I guarantee you that you will see that it is vastly superior to a single display or even a 60" HDTV.

It is known that adding displays increases productivity (not to mention that gaming on a display that envelops your peripheral vision is incredibly immersive). I guarantee you that I would make easy use of 3 or 4 displays at work. At home I have dual display and would not think of going back to a single.

Just because some people have success it does not mean that you have to even out your profits by giving it all to the poor. You can do that, but it's not sustainable if an entire community gave so much. By all means, give to the poor. But I think that your internet access and computer is excessive and you should sell them and give the money to the poor. In fact, you could probably get away with a single change of clothes.

To halt technological progress for these reasons will only do a disservice to the rest of the world. Many of the things enable us to provide for poorer communities are a direct result of our scientific and technological progress.

And recreation time is very important. We are not designed to work 100% of the time. It keeps us sane. So even that has practical and valid purpose.

24 monitor fap station.... pair this with that 16tb server we saw the other day and you are set..

Also power color is quickly becoming one of the more daring card makers. first to add custom coolers to the 58x0 line don't you know

got to hate those bezel's

Windows 7 max supported monitors only goes till 8. This is a very niche market card, unless microsoft patches in new capabilities.

On an off note, this was posted on most tech sites last week and on powercolors facebook mid last week. Way to be ahead of the curve.

[citation][nom]mister g[/nom]The triple slot card, it's finally happened. Just saying.[/citation]
It's happened before. :)

Why not just put all 12 miniDP in a vertical orientation and put them all much closer together, and use thinner cables. I'm sure you could get 12 miniDP slots onto it that way.
Regardless, nice.
Single slot cards are godly for multi GPU setups (some of the 5000 series based workstation cards are single slot), but I wouldn't mind a 4 slot card, as I run only a single expansion, my GPU.

I would love it for a 4x3 projector setup.
How about we get daisy chaining for DisplayPort already? Just run 3 monitors on a single cable.

While some of us are just graduating to having three monitors on our desks from two

At home I use just the monitor of my laptop (15.6") and at work use a dual monitor setup (my laptop and an old IBM 16" CRT) and when it comes to choosing and @ the same resolution I actually prefer in most ways the CRT over the LCD (in these sizes 13"-17), for one, you see the same picture no matter if you're moving/reclining on your chair, there's no bleeding, dark colors look way better, etc. But I'm aware I must be one of the very few with this anti-progress thinking.

+1 lol

Screw 12 monitors, you'd still have a bezel where the crosshair should be. Bump it down to 9 for a negligible difference in quality allowing you to actually play things correctly.

[citation][nom]dogman_1234[/nom]Hello, why are people wasting money on hardware components. It is not like we are 'future proofing' our pc's at all. We are a wasteful country, nation and world. People are starving in Africa and the money that will buy this gpu could feed a family of 6 for a whole YEAR! Think about it. Some of us cannot even afford i7 builds because of this recession/depression. These companies really need to faces economical reality.[/citation]
OMG cry me a river already... This hardware that will have a niche. It is not for the general populace to run out and buy 12 60" monitors to cover the wall of thier trailor home.

Just wow... I still have my 4 years old 17 inch samsung monitor with low 1280x1024 res and for me it's enough. 7920 x 3600, that is super uber resolution, but, who actually is gonna buy this thing? Hardly 3x 22 inch monitors, can't imagine 12x 24 inch...

Ok 3 monitor Eyefinity is interesting for an average gamer, 6 is too much 12 is just ridiculous, maybe for a surveillance company but im sure the necessary hardware and software already exists. But still with 12 screens you would always have the bezel at the center of the screen. eyefinity 9 would be more interesting for FPS gamers.
Anyway just another excuse too upgrade our mancaves.

I don't know if it really counts, but the ASUS ROG Ares HD 5970 takes up three slots, because of it's incredibly large cooler.

12? That's just overkill. Porn looks great on just one monitor, let alone three is already too much to handle! 12? That's like a McDonald's menu; i'll be standing there all day trying to figure out what i want

I know my opinion might be considered cruel and selfish. But there's a very good reason this system is not going to change!
The problem with helping the poor is, that we're currently exploiting them. If we help them get closer to our standards, we'll have to lower ours to do so. The more equal we are across the globe, the worse of (in contrast to them) we'll be. Currently industrial nations thrive by keeping our interlectual knowhow for ourselves, and merely using the rest of the world as manufacturing plants. Until china breaks our system, and they eventually will, this'll stay that way.
If all of the world would suddenly have clean water and toilet paper available (very basic things) we'd run out of wood, and water treatment plants would eat up so many resources that our luxury level will significantly decrease.
The idea that if we help another country evolve, they'll help us later, doesn't work. In reality it'll merely equalize our resources and while they get a significant boost, we'll lose resources. Most people in the western world won't desire such a future.

So helping the poor is not really a good option for us. It'll hurt the economics system, it'll hurt industrialism (which is responsible for much bad in the world, but also largely responsible for our welbeing).

I think a world where the poor are closer to our standards will result in a more chaotic world, where everyone has less, and nobody is content with having less. The only way this would work is with comunism - and we all know it doesn't work in the real world. The principle is fine, but if everybody gets the same, nobody is motivated to do something extra to get something extra, and nobody will feel responsible.

This isn't exactly a technology related topic though.
