Question Powerful GPU with low graphics settings

hello, i have recently got a rtx 3090, i generally prefer to play games with the graphics settings set on low, talking with some friends had told me that in the long run the gpu might suffer damage because "not enough is used", personally i don't think it's true, i also limit the fps to 144, do i run any risk?

this may not be true with every GPU, some cheap cards have fanstop tied to just GPU temperature sensor, which may prevent GPU fan spinning when GPU is underutilised , while some other GPU parts might be getting hot, like vram can get hot really fast with low gpu load

No risk playing on low but should have not waste alot off cash for powerful gpu to play on low setting maybe you could try high setting with it depending on your computer specs
