[SOLVED] Pre-build Compatibility check

Hi all,

Just wondering if you could give the your opinions on the following build - https://pcpartpicker.com/list/dyw2BZ

I'm planning to keep my existing Corsair PSU which is around 8 years old & the case too.

PC Part Picker did state the Mobo has an additional 4-pin ATX connector to supply additional 12V current to the board - not sure if it's really needed?

Parts are all compatible. Few things to note, I would get 2x8 vs 4x4 for the ram. It's easier on the memory controller and will perform slightly better.

I would absolutely NOT reuse an 8 year psu, especially one that isnt of the top tier. Case is fine to reuse of course.

Also, would it be ok to reuse an old self-isolating water-cooling kit I've got? It's an Asetek 510LC with 120mm Radiator

That's interesting, I've been told 4x4 is better for indexing times? My low-level knowledge isn't that great, forgive me

It depends on the rank of the memory. There's single and dual rank memory.
Rank does not equal channel, by the way.
It starts getting overly complicated, so I wouldn't think too much about it.
