Help. I think I may have a corrupted file somewhere. When I play a clip from
the collections window it displays in the Preview window and the Audio plays.
When I drag the clip down onto the timeline, the audio plays but the doesn't
display and can't be previewed. I've checked the settings and the options but
there is no preview option that can be switched on or off in the preview.

Is there any place I can download Movie Maker and reinstall. It came on my
hard drive with a new machine and no CD Rom. Also I don't want to recover
asit would mean a major Backup/Restore exercise. Is there a guardian angel
out there that can advise where I can download Moviemaker, or better still
know why I can't preview the timeline. There is an option to download
Moviemaker 2.1 which I attempted, but it says first install XP Service Pack
2. After updating everything in XP, which took days, the MS Site said SP2 is
not yet available, and therefore I can't update Movie Maker yet. Sorry for
the size of the post but it is important that I get MM2 back up and running.
I've achieved more in a day in MM2 than in two weeks of Vegas or Pinnacle
Edition

You can order a CD of SP2 to be shipped to you free of charge.

Download Movie maker 2.0 from
http://www.download.com/Windows-Movie-Maker/3000-2194_4-10187903.html

Or order free SP2 CD from
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp2/cdorder/en_us/default.mspx

The most frequent reason one cannot preview on the timeline is because of
the source clip being MPEG2. Are you using MPEG clips ? Convert them to
maximum quality WMV using Windows Media Encoder
