Hi guys! So after seeing the i5 4570 is the best cpu for the money I was wondering if the i5 4670k OC'd would be better including the money for the extra components (mobo, cooler, cpu)

Something like

I5 4570 $190
H87 Plus $105

Vs

I5 4670k $220
Z87x h3d $109
Cooler Master Hyper Evo $30

So $295 vs $360

The i5 4670k will be OC.

My main question is if the i5 4570 has better stock performance per dollar will an OC i5 4670k make a difference including the extra components you need?

Thought you said you wanted to know what was the best CPU for the Money? (and its components).

First off in some places (like microcenter) you can get the 4670 for close to the 4570 price. if you're 3+ generations behind in CPU (like i was) then just go for the latest chipset (lga 1150).

$295 vs $360 (as you listed here, which i am certain you can find it at less with a combo deal from microcenter) is 22% for a 8-10% performance improvement (thats 6.5¢ per month for the 5 yr minimum you'll own that CPU for).

Also, the fact that the 4670k can be overlocked is worth the extra $$$ (if you don't want to overclock then jump ship and get the Xeon V3)

Hope this helps

Best Luck.

Thanks! But according to your link the price of the i5 4670k is $240 so I think those price performamce results are not correct.
