Hi guys,

So over the past few months I've tried several monitors and keep running into the same issue. I have two monitors, one 75hz 1080p, one 1440p which should be able to go up to 120, 144, 165hz. However, the main monitor (1440p, first some Asus monitor, now a Samsung Odyssey G50a 27" 165hz) will regularly (every few seconds or so for a few seconds) go completely black and whenever it is not it will still give white rectangular flashes. I've put the power supply in different sockets, I've switched between displayport (pretty sure it's 1.2) and hdmi (and converters), I've updated my drivers (monitor and gpu), checked for Windows updates, reset monitor settings to factory, but all to no avail. The only time the 1440p monitor 'behaves' is when I put it back at 60hz, but I did not purchase a 165hz monitor to play at 60hz...

Funnily enough, I just found out my iiyama 1080p monitor won't go above 60hz in the settings, but is listed on their website as a 75hz monitor. This one apparently won't even let me enter a higher refresh rate... It's connected by an hdmi cable.

I have been to a large amount of forums to check solutions, but nobody has come up with something that has worked for me. How can I enable my monitors to display my stuff at 75hz and 165hz without acting up?

Specs:
Monitor 1: Samsung Odyssey G50a 27" 165hz (the culprit)
Monitor 2: iiyama G-Master GE2488HS 24" 75hz (the other underperformer)
GPU: RX 6800 XT
CPU: Ryzen 5 7600x
RAM: G Skill Ripjaws 2 x 16GB @6000mhz
Mobo: MSI Mag Tomahawk B650
PSU: Sharkoon Silentstorm 750w (or so)

Edit: in addition to all of the above, my pc also seems to boot a little slower, loading shaders in games like Hogwarts Legacy and Dead by Daylight is visibly slower and laggier, and my CPU and GPU run visibly hotter. This is all at 1440p 60hz, so not any more demanding than usual...

What are we supposed to deduce from the bracketed info? Are you unsure of the make and model of your PUS? If so, take the side panels off the case and pass on what you see on the stickered info ont he PSU. In addition, how old is the unit?

Mobo: MSI Mag Tomahawk B650
BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time?

Is FreeSync/Adaptive Sync enabled?

Use DDU to remove all GPU drivers(Intel, Nvidia and AMD)in Safe Mode off your platform then manually reinstall with the latest GPU driver sourced off of AMD's support site in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator.

PSU: Sharkoon Silentstorm Cool Zero 850w.
The unit is 3 years and 3 months old.
The BIOS version 1.70 - AMD AGESA ComboAM5PI 1.0.0.7c (date 8/10/2023)
Turning FreeSync on and off didn't fix the issue.
Will try the DDU thing right now and will update this comment.

Edit: also did the DDU thing in Safe Mode and reinstalled drivers, almost seemed to fix it for a second, but alas the issue persists.
