Hi all,

Asus PRIME X570-P motherboard
https://www.bhphotovideo.com/lit_files/589696.pdf
P-16 (motherboard drawing)

There are 2 "M2 Socket 3" on the motherboard for PCIe3 SSD.

I can use only one "M2 Socket 3", running Ubuntu 22.04, installed on the socket above "PDIEX16-2" slot (pls see drawing). When I add another "PCIe3 SSD" to the "M2 Socket 3" socket below "PDIEX16-2" slot, the 1st "PCIe3 SSD" couldn't be detected on BIOS

Please help how to fix the problem? Thanks in advance.

Regard

There are two M.2 sockets (forget about "socket 3"), M.2_1 is connected with PCIe lines from CPU and sharing them with top PCIe x16 slot. and M.2_2 connected by PCIe lanes from chipset.
M.2_1 PCIe version depends on the CPU (could be v3.0 or v4.0) and M2_2 PCIe v4.0.
Soooo....what CPU and which M.2 drives do you have ?
PS. BIOS may not show either dirve until it's formattad, OS should.

What processor are you working with? What BIOS version are you on for your motherboard? Make and models of both SSD's?
Hi,

Processor - AMD Ryzen 5 3400G with Radeon Vega Graphics
But I have 4K graphic card installed;
NVIDIA Corporation TU116 [GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER] (rev a1)

BIOS

Hi all,

Please let me add more information.

"Intel SSD 660p series-1TB" was originally installed on this PC, running Ubuntu 22.04 as OS. Later I found insuffient space then I replaced it with "Samsung 970 EVO Plus-2TB", also running Ubuntu 22.04. "Intel SSD 660p series-1TB" rests on shelves,

Now I want to test LinuxMint on Intel SSD then I found this problem. I haven't touched anything on Intel SSD yet.
