Question Problem with minecraft

So the problem i'am having with minecraft is that when i take my laptop with me or just don't have it connected to my TV (used as primary display) the framerate just drops dramatically.
When i have my laptop connected to my TV the framerate is about 100-140 fps with absolutely no drops under 60, but when my laptop isn't connected to the TV the fps is 60 with frequent drops under it.
I don't see any reason for the fps to drop and be extremely unstable because the way i have my laptop when it's not connected to the TV is basically the same when it is connected, the problem doesn't occur in any other games i play.
The minecraft version i use is 1.8.9 with optifine.
Thank's in advance.

The laptop i have is an Acer nitro 5, how do i update my laptop's displays drivers?

I DON'T think this is a driver issue, but nonetheless, please try to install the OEM VGA drivers from your Laptop Manufacturer's website. For Laptops, in case of any performance/stability issue, it is recommended that you try installing the VGA drivers directly from the OEM manufacturer.

Check the laptop's exact model number, and go to manufacturer's page to download/install the GPU drivers. What other games do you play on this Laptop ? Have you tried rollbacking the drivers ?? This seems more like a game issue though, or some setting.

Do you have all the latest firmware, system drivers, device drivers, BIOS, fully updated on your Laptop ? Have you tried disabling the INTEL HD graphics, if need be.

So i fixed it.
The problem was caused by the fact that for some reason my minecraft had decided when it wasn' connected to a monitor it should use the Intel HD graphics instead of the GTX 1050TI, i don't know what caused it but at least i figured it out in the end.
Huge thank's for everyone who offered their help even though it didn't help with the problem, at least i re-installed my nvidia drivers because of this thread (probably wouldn't have otherwise).
So thank's again for everyone who offered help and cheers.
