Hello. I recently bought a ryzen 7 1700. I already had an rx460 4 gb and 8 gb ram. From my old pc the only things that i changed where the ram the cpu and the motherboard. So from the beggining when i played Fortnite it was all good with stable fps and just every now and then fps dropped without a reason. From 120 they went to 30-40 for about 6 seconds and then back up to 120. I didnt care so much because it happened only for some seconds and only 1 time per hour. But yesterday fortnite crashed about 3 times and fps were going again as above. One thing that also happened was every 2 minutes that passed there was a lag spike and for 1 sec fps dropped from 120 to 40 and then back to 120. This was very unpleasant because it happened constantly and you could feel the game not so smooth. Do you think i should search the problem in gpu drivers? Or maybe there is a problem with my psu because it is from my old pc?

What's your power supply? The RX 460 should run with lower power requirements unless your PSU is very bad. Have you tried checking temperatures on both the CPU and GPU to see if any throttling has occurred? It could also be a driver issue related to your GPU as well. Have you tried fresh installing the driver using DDU?

I dont know much about pc. And i dont know how to check the model of my psu. I also checked other amd drivers and the problem remains. The temps are ok i already checked.

So the psu can be the problem? When i first started playing with the new cpu everything was kind of good except from a fps drop every hour for 6 seconds. What did change now? The psu is the same.

Since you appear to have kept your old hard drive(s), did you reinstall Windows?
Yes i did reinstall them. I found that the last 2 days these lag spikes that happen are game server problem and not from my pc. So the only thing that my pc is wrong is that: from 120 fps it goes to 30-40 for about 6 seconds and then back up to 120. This happens only once per hour or so. And it happens regardless of what is shown in game.

Can you check your CPU/GPU usage when playing games and note down what the usage is when the spikes do occur? You can use MSI Afterburner's overlay, so that you can see it in game.

I already checked it with msi afterburner in game. CPU usage only reaches like 20% at max and gpu is about 60% and sometimes go to 100%. The temps are ok. Cpu like 40 and gpu 60.
