Hello all,
I am having a problem with a PC booting up what seems like on its own.
This is my sister's PC and she has told me that after they turn off the PC
it seems to turn on within approx 5 minutes after being turned off. I am not
quite sure of what to look for. The system is running XP Pro and have APM
turned on. I cant remember exactly what the mobo is off the top of my head,
I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction (ideas to check)
that may solve this issue.

Thank you in advance.

Scott

Typically it could be caused by BIOS settings, such as Wake On LAN or a
setting for USB or PS/2 (keyboard or mouse) wakeup or poweron.

Sometimes the network adapter driver has a related setting, accessible in
the properties for the device in either Control Panel ->Network
Connections, or Device Manager.

The larger question might be whether it always exhibited this behavior,
and if not, what's changed just prior to this "problem".
