Problems with DDR

I'm thinking of getting a new computer. The problem is that I find it very very hard to find DDR SDRAM nowadays. Recently, I checked www.pricewatch.com for the price of DDR SDRAM, surprisingly, RDRAM turned out to be cheaper that DDR SDRAM. That makes me worried. I was thinking of getting a budget pc and not to have some expensive RAM on my system. Why is DDR SDRAM more expensive than RDRAM?

It's not. The RDRAM your comparing DDR RAM to is Generic. (GENERIC SUCKS)

And also, all the companies on pricewatch overcharge for DDR memory. Try www.crucial.com and you'll get near-SDRAM prices for DDR memory.

Yeah- Micron/Crucial has a good price on DDR. Their PC1600 memory is the same price as PC133 i believe. I've got several engineering samples from Micron and they've all turned out fine.

There was a blurb on Toms main site a few weeks ago saying that ddr stuff won't be out in quantity until around Feb. 14. So it comes down to basic economics: low supply + high demand = high cost.
