Problems with windows 8.1 (Crashing/ Freezing/ Staling)

So I bought a copy of windows 8.1, and have ran into a very odd problem to whenever I do anything. It will stall emit a loud noise, then promptly shut off without any sign of a crash (No BSOD/ No files left behind). Something that confuses me is that whenever I use skype to talk to somebody, it will not crash. Keep in mind this is with a clean install with maybe a few steam games installed. Anybody had this problem and now how to fix it.

Note: Windows 7 works completely fine, W8.1 is my problem.

Specs:
Motherboard: MSI E75MA-P33
CPU: AMD Athlon x4 760k
GPU: AMD r9 270x
RAM: G.Skill Sniper 1600 8gb
PSU: Thermal Take 700w PSU

This could work, will try it out. I think my motherboard may have been discontinued though.

They have current drivers on the website - I went and verified it 🙂
