Will a hard drive run any faster on a Promise Ultra66 vs. the onboard IDE
controller? If not, I'm gonna yank to free up a pci slot.

Motherboard is a WS440bx.

Thanks,
Scott

Yes, if the drive is 7200 rpm and less than a couple of years old.
ATA33 is fine for an older 5400rpm or slower drive.

Thanks Ed....it's a WD 120Gb 7200 rpm 8mb cache drive. So I guess I'll leave
the card in.
