[citation][nom]thefiend1[/nom]I never said SAMSUNG cant compete. Im saying if A company cannot compete with another, you shouldnt insult or cry about it - you should do a better job getting people into liking your product like apple does. That said, i own both samsung and apple products. So settle down and read things a little better.[/citation]

You do realize that Apple does not actually make anything, right !
Everything inside Apple's products is manufactured and assembled oversees.
Apple, like Nike, is basically a huge marketing company.

Yeah, and those thousands of mechanical, electrical, LCD, software, materials science and CPU/semiconductor engineers Apple employs are actually marketers pretending to be engineers to fool people.

Apple designs and manufacturers their own devices in-house. When they finalize a design they then go to an outside company (like Foxconn) to mass-produce devices to their specifications - specifications they arrived at by building numerous prototypes themselves and refining the product to where it's suitable for release.

Apple is responsible for 99% of a device, companies like Foxconn the last 1%. This is how the vast majority of tech companies work.

Between reading this and the other article that talkes about Foxconn and their again suicidal protestors, Apple is rather sickening on the manufacturing front.
The process of manufacturing these things really isnt overly skilled any more, and it creates thousands of jobs. yet, they dont make a single thing in the country where their company is based.
Apples profit margins are high enough, they could provide to the share holders adequately and still bring jobs to a decent country that has standards... It doesnt even have to be the US (though that would be my preference being a US citizen and all) but how about at least a country with decent labor laws?

As to this, the simplicity of the statement being made I think was by design...And I dont think it was any major company behind it. "Wake Up" will make people thing.. and try and figure out WHAT the message is. However, if the "Occupy" movement proved one thing, it is that you'll be forgotten quickly if there is no clear agenda behind your protest, albeit this is a completely different platform in terms of topic, so who knows.. not likely to detract any iSheep IMO, but an interesting yarn none the less..

[citation][nom]halcyon[/nom]My only point is that people here seem to dislike Apple and their products simply and only because they're made by Apple.[/citation]

Apple could release a 1024TB iPhone with the cpu and gpu power of Tom's $2,600 SBM machine for March, include a 4k resolution display in a 4.5in form factor, and have a battery charge that would last 10 years before it needs to be recharged and these haters would still be going apeshit.. Of course, haters gonna hate..

You may have a point. I like Chinese people a lot (though I'm not even Asian). I just thought that people there had it worse off than people in places like the US. Our US government would rather fight pointless wars (to me, anyways) than help its own people. I don't think it's Apple's job to make up the difference. I know my perspective is unique and unpopular, and that's okay by me.

Funny protest, but a timely one. iZombies pose a serious threat to the march of open standards in technology. I doubt that Samsung would be responsible for this demonstration. Samsung sold this past quarter a lot more smart phones than Apple and even makes the hyped Retina display being trumpeted to morons these days. Sadly most Apple zombs can't even imagine that they are trapped in Jobs' handyourwallet iJail. So for them waking up is not even a dream. In my estimate it would probably be easier to wake up a religious fanatic who thinks all non-believers are going to hell.

Waking up an Apple Zombie is probably more difficult than waking up some religious fanatic who thinks non believers are going to hell after death. Doubt Samsung would get involved in this. Samsung make the hyped Retina display being trumpeted to morons these days, and they will surely make lots of money. Not only that, this past quarter they sold alot more smart phones than Apple.

All the haters in here are just upset that their company is the most variable company in the world. Like others said... People vote with their wallets. 100 billion in the bank.... Shawtty whatcha drink?

The font used on that website (same as on the side of the black bus) is clearly neither in the Segoe WP or Nokia Pure families; you can tell by the shape of the K. On the other hand, the K is stylistically much closer to the K on my Android phone...so given the timing and all, I feel pretty confident that this a Samsung stunt. 😛

[citation][nom]prommmy[/nom]I love my iPhone and the new iPad, so what's wrong with that? I may not like other Apple devices and I do prefer PC over Mac - Why you people are so worked up with this anti Apple, anti Microsoft, anti Android or anti whatever it is that may not please your individual preference? Constructive inputs and criticisms are better received rather than hater remarks. Wake up? Wake up to what?! Wake up! you're bunch of adults wearing blacks, silly signs, prob loud as hell, disturbing others for what again? There goes the priorities in life.. No company can please every consumer out there - that's a fact, accept it and move on to better things in life fellas..[/citation]

Apple uses snappy little slogans and media sound bites to elevate their products to a status that is undeserved. It stands to reason that Apple foes are dealing with a target audience that deals in sound bites and so sound bites they shall receive. I had an Apple Fan Boy explain to me that using an Apple reduces his need to actually think. He was very proud of this fact. When dealing with that kind of mentality there is a requirement to push large concepts in two words or less.

Seeing the protesters walking towards that Louis Vuitton store at the end of the video, I think their protest is all about people who spend money on luxury goods, or products that are way overpriced.

Looks like they are trying to raise consumer awareness. It's easy to think of Samsung (as I dit, too), but did they only protest at the Apple store? Time will tell.

I think Apple has been a bigger bitch than anyone and generally insults companies who makes a competing product. Let's not forget Apple went through a lot of trouble, based off a generic tablet diagram to block Samsung from selling tablets in Germany.

Really at the end of the day, Apple does more bitching and whining and suing to keep competitors from selling products so shut the F up.
