PSU for a gaming and recording build

Hi,

I need suggestions on a PSU for a new build used for gaming and home recording. The components so far are:

Intel i7 2600k
ASUS Sabertooth Z77
MSI GTX670
Kingston Hyper X 8GB
Samsung SSD 256GB
Corsair H100
8 fans
Maybe a 1TB HDD
Maybe a Blu-ray burner

I would like to know the min- max wattage recommended for the build. Also a little room for extra wattage for future SLI would be nice.

How do I know how much power my rig will consume?

That's a great link to figure out a rough idea of how much power your rig will use. It doesn't have the 670 on the list, but the GTX680 has roughly the same power consumption (a bit more, but gives you a rough idea).

That's true :lol: but I like the newegg calculator since it tells you the recommended wattage of the PSU, not the power consumption itself.

The rig listed on this thread uses around 360 watts of power (Using that thermaltake link of yours), so I would usually recommend a 500-600w PSU, which is what newegg also recommends

Yup! [off topic] Though I must thank you for that thermaltake link, I've been looking for that for AGES but I couldn't find it (probably due to laziness and wrong way of searching). I get curious on how much power some of my rigs consume at times - not just a recommended PSU :lol:
