SLI driver support is pretty terrible nowadays but to answer your question a good quality 750W unit would be enough for SLI GTX 980's.

Pointless endeavor though because besides the driver issues your motherboard doesn't support SLI (only Crossfire).
well on this forum lots of people have said that the board dose support nvidia sli and is certified
https://hexus.net/tech/reviews/mainboard/79958-msi-970-gaming/ this website says it dose
https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/msi-970-gaming-motherboard-sli-support.2003669/ this forum on this website says it dose

https://proclockers.com/reviews/motherboards/msi-970-gaming-motherboard-review/page/0/1 and this website

but anyway would a 800w evga psu be enough

What might be more at issue is that support for SLI and/or Crossfire in games is a thing of the past. You might get very little benefit, if at all, for your efforts. SLI might even hurt performance.

What games do you play? Are you certain that any of them gain any benefit from SLI?

The BQ's are ok (not great, not fire hazard) and would probably be fine with both GPU's.

Make sure your game(s) support SLI though, nothing worse then buying another GPU/PSU and finding out your getting the same performance as before or worst then a single GPU (yes that can happen).

thanks is they any you would recommend because your might be more of a expert than me

First of all, try to address if better graphics will do you any good.
Run this test:

Run YOUR games, but lower your resolution and eye candy.
If your FPS increases, it indicates that your cpu is strong enough to drive a better graphics configuration.
If your FPS stays the same, you are likely more cpu limited.

sli will win you synthetic fps benchmarks, but gameplay is better on a good single card.
sli is prone to stuttering and screen tearing. Some games do not even suooprt dual cards.

A quality 750w psu is going to set you back some $100+
Add to that the cost of a second GTX980 and you may be better off selling your GTX980 in favor of a stronger card.

I wouldn't stress too much about a game that isn't out yet. The requirements are high but like most new games it will require optimization and I can almost guarantee you that there won't be SLI drivers for awhile after release.

Honestly I wouldn't bother with SLI. I think your better off saving up for Ryzen and you can find the 2600 for a decent price.
What do you think I should do because I can save and have been doing for weeks (got around £200 ) I know I want a really good system but in a budget and tips as I have not worked with Ryzen at all + is my FX CPU still good??

If your current CPU & GPU are performing well then there's little reason to upgrade. Continue saving and then when you get to undesirable performance then upgrade the part(s) required to bring you back to what you want. Upgrading in anticipation for certain games makes little sense to me. When Cyberpunk comes out try it out and adjust settings accordingly, if your still getting poor performance then upgrade.

The Ryzen 3600 is a good CPU for gaming & editing. As for what to get though depends on when you need to upgrade, with the 4th gen coming out later this year (no time frame yet) it may be something to consider getting.

For a motherboard the MSI B450 boards are good because the allow for BIOS updates without a CPU.
