I'm so thankful for my fast internet. 150down/25up. My GF downloaded Fallout4 in like 10 minutes. I recently downloaded a 20gb StarCitizen patch in about 8 minutes.
My build is half years old it cant have molex
But my nzxt phantom 530 fan controller has molex 😀
There are plenty of systems that still use molex connectors. My NZXT Grid+ v2 is powered by Molex, as are many fan hubs. The Hue+ I have on order also uses molex power. If you have reused your optical drive from a previous build, or several previous builds, you could easily have a molex powered optical drive, but it would be pretty unlikely since they've been SATA for a long time and molex powered units are generally IDE rather than SATA, which means on modern boards there would be little chance of having an IDE header.
He PM'd me asking about getting a GTX950. I wold him he NEEDS to replace the PSU, but he said he won;t do it.
Yeah he definitely will want to replace that. He obviously has never done anything of great stress. If he did a stress test, that would either shut off or burn.
Let's hire some firemen to stay at by his house.
I don't even know how his build lasted for so long with such a s***** PSU. That build's gotta be >3 years old.
Oh, and anyone see that motherboard? That "Alvorix" manufacturer? xD
I'm a bit concerned with where the PSU market is heading. Everyone is making Titanium and Platinum units, but these are going to be so expensive. It's great of course if you need the efficiency (like servers), but 90% of people it probably is not necessary. I just want something like high quality Bronze, Silver, or Gold units hitting the market at a good bargain. Kind of like the 4/hundreds of power supplies just about recommended on this forum 😛
It's just that the only units at CES that I heard about were basically all Titanium. I didn't hear about any other units.
Well, I think now that they all have decent budget units out there that they're just trying to innovate in the high end market.
I guess, but I'd still like to see new good units. I'm not even talking about budget units, I'm talking about units like the S12ii, EVGA G2, XFX whatevers. I'd like to see more of those type coming to the market, but perhaps from some other brands for a change. Sometimes I just would like to have that moment when I click on a different power supply in pcpartpicker.
My guess is it won't be that long, and he won't own a pc, just a pile of molten plastic when that psu finally decides it's had enough of working, time for the fireworks.
