Oo, consider me spanked. Yes, those conclusions are based on US terms. I'm guessing then, since I was so off-base, that with the Chinese workforce and abilities, factories over there would have a different way of doing things. I didn't consider that.
Thanks for the correction.

He doesn't actually do PSU reviews anymore. And since he works for Corsair now, it would be kinda sketchy if he did. "Yeah this Corsair™ power supply is really extremely good, just like everything else Corsair™ makes."

Not looking to "spank" anyone. 😉

China has surprisingly little to no automation. And once you get into buying 10s of thousands of a particular part, the volume discounts are minimal. It's not like going to Mouser or Digikey and getting a 10s price versus a 1s price. Cables, connectors and pins are still very expensive and more expensive than the labor required to install them. Single layer PCBs are still cheap, but still more expensive than the labor. So when looking at the cost of non-modular vs. semi-modular vs. fully-modular, it's best to look at the potential cost of parts. That would put non-mod as the cheapest, semi-mod as more expensive and fully-modular as most expensive.

Pretty sure Jeremy (Oklahoma Wolf, who does most of the reviews now) has a review sample on the schedule.

If you're curious: Essentially the new TX-M is the CS-M, but with all Japanese caps, improved hold up time (16ms as opposed to 10ms), and rated at 50C (instead of 40C).

Still built at Great Wall.

I dunno Turkey, if the B3 performs worse than the new CXM, I'd not be surprised if he did comment, that would be in no way a conflict of interest, (to my reckoning anyways), and a comparison between the two 'might' be acceptable, but I think you'd be right about his own personal opinion vrs a professional one. Who knows, he might just surprise you, the red spot on my sore (edited) will attest to that lol.
I'd still be interested in the review though, Corsair CX has had the lions share of budget psu sales forever it seems, and CXM is the nail in the coffin, not easy at all to find better, cheaper, at low wattage anyways, so Evga trying to take on Corsair at the budget level is going to be an interesting scrap.

The thing is he knows how every PSU out there performs. On the computer he can pull up data on just about every power supply, even those PSUs that you don't know anything about. He told me a while back Corsair buys and tests every PSU extensively on the market by all brands. He's probably just not allowed to give out information that Corsair collects for the benefit of its own engineers to design products that try to beat the competition.

If I say CX is better, I'm a shill. If I see B3 is better, I'm not a good employee. 🙂

Seriously, I haven't had a chance to test it yet. Too busy. Last week in Taiwan and China and just now got back from Intel in Folsom.

I will say that no review samples went out, which is concerning to me.

I have used, and recommended, a fair number of Corsair PSU's. I still have an HX650 that I keep as a backup, and my nephew is still rocking my old TX750. The older CX I wouldn't dare use, but I would have no problems using one of the new CX450-650m models. EVGA's aggressive B2 750w pricing can make them a tough sell, at times, though. It is going for $69.99 right now, on Amazon. The CX650m is the same price, also at Amazon.

I just opted for the CX-450M for each of a pair of i3+GTX1060 (single 6-pin) 1080p gamers. My only gripe was only a single SATA cable is included; i.e. allowing for one "string" of drives. It really needs two. If the customer wants a second hard drive, an adapter will be needed to reach the SATA optical drive.

That's because ya'll have little time for the older generation of games, between family life, new games you haven't beaten yet and babysitting us.
I found my disc 2 for the 4 disc Balders Gate yesterday, I was excited!

just got leaked, it appears on some chinese websites.

I think it will be a budget super flower model, with other words a nice product.

Thanks for your input! But why do you recommend that unit? I think it's tier 4, isn't it? while GQ is tier 1 with 80+ gold certification
