Hi - 'Hiper' is the name of a PSU supplier. Mostly Andysson, Solytech units with some CWT
as OEM's.

Wow. Thanx. I like seasonic x series(see rig in sig) but not every body has it in thier budget. I never worry about my system with reguards of power. I know i have it and quality too. I also never worry about it frying either.

The TX series was tier 2 in it's day. Discontinued now. I used a TX750 for almost 7 years.

I still rate Seasonic over Super Flower, on the weight of experience and consistency. By many JG review comments, Delta sets the standard for soldering quality, but iirc not everything they've made has been great (e.g. the 430W Antec Basiq).
And finally, "hiper" is not a misspelling of "hyper;" I believe it was meant as a contraction of "Hi Performance."

Does anyone think that the CX Series should be on a higher tier? I got in a small altercation with someone, and he said that he would rather use a CX430 to overclock a G3258 to 4.2GHz, rather than a SeaSonic S12II 430B.

It honestly made no sense to me. He called this whole list bs and said it's only based on brands. Even though Corsair AX/HX/RM is tier 1. He then proceeded to say that the CX series is mainly Japanese capacitors, mixed with some Taiwanese. For some reason, my inner "super wisdom guy" is telling me that he's not trolling.

CX430 (SKU# 75-001666 / CP-9020046)
Primary: Panasonic 180µF, 400VDC, 85°C
Secondary: predominantly Samxon 105°C with a mix of Nippon Chemicon, Jun-fu and CapXon

How is that mainly Japanese capacitors? If it was mainly Japanese capacitors it would cost more.

I finally decided to just stop trying to save his computer, and just ended the conversation. He told me "This is the post of a man that has run out of arguments. You want to keep telling people that CX power supplies are bad, or crap. Go ahead, have fun giving people false information." I just left with my hand stuck to my face...

A lot of people, even though they are PC enthusiasts, are quite clueless when it comes to power supplies. From the 90% of the PC enthusiasts I know think Corsair units are quality and all of them consist of premium quality components.

So walk in a PC shop and ask them what they think of Corsair units and they'll tell you they're great really. So I'm not sure how one person can convince you this far that you can't believe otherwise.

Maybe you should read what a lot of other people say or something before you're convinced. Here read this if you're bothered:

When I said that they shouldn't be in $1000+ builds he said that they would be fine for huge gaming rigs. I would maybe use a cx with a Intel Core Duo and 2gb of ram. I realized that this wasn't an argument I could win.
