My Seasonic Platinum 660XP2 would argue with you 😛

I still like my ss1250xm tho. Two 780tis in sli overclocked to 1254mhz, 4790k at 4.7 stable 24/7, dh15 cooler, and a gazzilion led fans from 240mm down to 120mm I needed the power of a 1050 but i oversized cause of the price. 660 wouldnt have made it ....

It's fine for my single 980 Ti setup. It was fine when I had a GTX 780 and it will still be fine when I move from my 2600K to a 6700K in a few months.

I trust what Oklahoma Wolf is putting in his reviews, and no offense to him or any of you who know him, less and less when I see things like this in the same review, separated by only a few lines of text. (And yes, this is from that GS unit)

Voltage regulation was strictly average on this unit, which is two notches down from excellent. That'll be a full one point deduction. To this, I will pull another half point for the 12V ripple.

Then in the bullet points he emphasizes:

The Good:
•excellent minor rail ripple control
very good 12V ripple control
•fully modular
•likes getting warm

How can anybody take a review seriously when it contradicts itself? This is not the first, nor even one of the few times I've seen this lately in one of their reviews. Rather than tighten up the +12v regulation, maybe they should tighten up the written documentation.

That being said, I know those guys generally know their business, but the reviews need to have uniform accuracy.

Consistency in reviews is important. Hopefully there wasn't any copy-pasta being served in there.
In any case, it still looks like a tier-2 unit.
I really liked Gabriel Torres' reviews though, with more in-depth dissection and especially the overload tests.

Well, that is very similar to what OklahomaWolf did in the Corsair CX review I linked a couple of weeks back. He talks about all these ugly issues in the scoring section, and then got to the good and bad points after that, and tried to make the crap earlier smell like roses.

It's pretty much the old SeaSonic G series platform. Still solid, but ageing badly.

The platform has been around for 4 years now. Still incredibly solid these days, but not as modern as Seasonic's KM3 platform or even Super Flower's Leadex platform.
