I mean, why would you go with anything else when you can't even get a decent 550w unit for that price? I'm thinking about buying a few of them to sell to customers or use in builds down the road when the price is no longer available. I don't really mind waiting for the rebates. I've never had an issue getting my rebates back from EVGA so long as I did what was required. Always be sure to make a copy of your barcode before sending the original in so you can reference it later if needed.

A quality 450 watts will be good however if you upgrade in the feature you might need a higher wattage PSU so pick 550 watts.

It is a good unit but in comparison the XFX XTR 550w is on a higher level (tier 1).

I will recommend a different power supply. This is a Seasonic S12II 520 watt 80+ Bronze rated, for $54.99 and if you use the link, there is an additional $5 discount, bringing the price down to $49.99.

Seasonic makes the best power supplies on the planet. They are the only brand of power supply that I buy for my own computers.

That is true, but for some The extra $30 is worth the fully modularity of the XTR over the Seasonic. Both are excellent quality units.

G2 is a great unit no need to feel bad in any way. G2 is better than a GS and a GS is better than the XFX TS but not the XTR. All 4 units are great however.

You didn't make a mistake. What you have is better in electrical performance and efficiency than Seasonic's old group regulated PSUs anyway.

If the CX units are tier4, then the EVGA G1 and FSP Aurum must also be tier 4.

Not a chance. The FX 9xxx chips require 1000w minimum and of decent quality. You should be looking at a EVGA G2 1000W, P2 1000W or some other Tier 1/2 unit.
The NEX is a tier 3 unit that quite possibly should be in tier 4.
