Just read a couple of articles from ocaholic on the chieftec Navitas 650 and 1250w units. CWT seems to have built a couple of solid units, the only drawback to the 650w is the CapXon caps in the secondaries, but both have Nippon-Chemicon primaries, very good solder, ATX spec'd ripple and otherwise solid build. From everything there, I'd say the Navitas 650 would be a good candidate for tier3 and the 1250 for tier2
And yes, I understand that the client specs out the components etc, but that's not to say the builder has to actually do a good job with the build and any/all quality control, as was the case with the RM 750/850 that Chicony built, excellent build, solid quality all around, except for the base design which leant to such crappy thermal properties it landed in tier4 instead of the tier2 it could have been. Just from those articles I'd say CWT has actually picked up the ball this time and run with it, doing a respectable job on a good design, not something I've come to expect from CWT quality units.
