A lot of high end electronic devices can, it has to with relays that won't close and allow power to the unit if there isn't sufficient voltage. Some units have a 'soft on' but this would be redundant in a psu. My Onkyo has a very definite click when it turns on and off. My 550 G2 does it too, but my M12-II doesn't.

Likely it's a Tier 3 or 4 unit like the Zalman GS/GT units, not Tier 2 like the HP series Zalman units, but I can't find any credible reviews of that unit so it could even be as poor as Tier 5. Zalman isn't well known for selling high quality power supplies and getting a better unit is probably not a poor decision.

I believe it's a regional model as all the relevant results are pretty much bringing up Far and middle eastern sources. In all honesty, most units that are mainly only sold on Flipkart and Snapdeal, and similar sites, and no where else, are usually pretty low quality.

Yep, so I have to get rid of it then, ha. PSU FD 550W INTEGRA M BLACK how is this? The price is excellent in Bulgaria. Can I run a i5 4570 and and OCed r9 280x?

A GOOD quality 550w unit is plenty for an i5 + 280x. I just built a system not too long ago with an i5 4460 + 280x on a 550w XFX. That system will never see more than 450w in the real world. I built a similar setup last month with a 390 instead of a 280x. I wish I had a dollar for every time I have used a 550w XFX!

An i5 and a 280x, even mildly overclocked, should run just fine on a 450W PSU. I did some BTC mining years ago with a 1100MHz HD7970 and i5-3570K, and it drew 312W from its UPS.

So...what is the absolutely cheapest PSU you might buy, for an office-type (maybe some-time light gamer) PC with either a Pentium or i3 and a GTX750Ti? What would be your preferred PSU for such a machine?

the xfx pro 550. What tier is it? Is it going to be better than the zalman? Hell it is cheaper than the zalman here. And does anybody know how much amps can a 280x taka when OCed. I run mine at +20% power limit 1130/1600. (Was going to get a SSD update, but getting rid of the Zalman seems more urgent...) :)

Thank you all for the help. Going to order the xfx first thing tomorrow. Getting the Zalman was a big mistake but I still can sell it.

Circle sells low end crap. Almost certainly a Tier 5 unit. Again, it's a limited brand regionally. Most likely Flipkart and Snapdeal and similarly regional vendors.

Hi..I ordered a superflower golden green hx 650w non modular for 99euro...
From the reviews and comments i saw it seems to be a good tier 2 psu but i would like to hear what do u think cause its not too late to cancel the order and buy something else...
My system: g3240(i ll upgrade to 4core soon)- hd7950- 1ssd -1hdd

The Super Flower Golden Green HX 650W SF-650P14XE uses cheap CapXon electrolytic capacitors on both the primary and secondary sides of the PSU. Cost reduction is a primary concern with the Golden Green HX series.
