As i said, even high end can fail. its about % of failure rates.
probably seen a few actual intel CPU failures over many many years. we had about 20 AMD in past year. and we sell way way way more intel vs amd.

Exactly. As we always say, a sample of one is no indicator of quality or probability. Due to the numbers of CX units that do NOT last when used in demanding configurations, you have to factor in the probability that a particular series won't last long in a given environment, not what it does on the test bench when brand new or what one user, who may or may not actually stress the unit for long periods of time under the same conditions that others will, sees their unit do or not do.

Yours has not failed, but it's also been only one year. So we change the tiering based on that? And when it DOES fail in six months from now, for a total of a year and a half of use, while other units are still chugging along after five to seven years of punishment, we change it back? I think not. It's great that yours has been a success for you, unfortunately that has not been the case for enough users that it became a concern and had to be addressed, which it was.

I5 3570k, gtx660ti (slightly higher power draw than a 960) both oc'd the snot (lol) out of them on a M12-II 520w, and that psu don't even get pushed hard enough to ramp up the fan. A newer i5 + gtx960 will be child's play for a M12-II 620w

It is if it's the M12 II Bronze Evo Edition. All these units with the same name are insanely hard to keep up with.

I think that list is incomplete. I have an M12-II 520w non EVO, semi modular with dual 12v rails at 20/20. It's not listed, so I'm not even sure if it's Haswell compliant or not.

Edit. Ah, my bad, its in the last table, just an error on RHTx part, they list it as single 40 not dual 20/20

No it's listed. It's not really a dual rail unit. I would bet it's the discontinued SS-520GM listed at almost the bottom of the page. Not Haswell compatible as it's group regulated.

Look at the model number on the sticker on the unit from newegg. It's an SS-620GM2 Active PFC F3 making it an M12 II Bronze Evo and Haswell compatible. The box also shows it as the Bronze Evo in the newegg picture.

This one.

The naming schemes are just confusing so you have to check the exact model.

Yeah, I wish they'd do something to differentiate between all these revisions. Like ADD REVISION NUMBERS TO THE MODEL NAME. M12II-620 V2, V3, etc. It would sure make sorting this out a lot easier. Or at least keep the most recent info on the product pages.

Me too. And Seasonic is actually pretty easy to keep track of compared to say Corsair.
