With too many other decent kits, like those offered by g-skill, Patriot, Mushkin, even adata and Kingston, not recommending another brand such as corsair really isn't difficult. I haven't been too impressed with their entry level kits, even though their higher end stuff is good.

I bought a Raidmax RX-735P and it is currently not outputting the full 12V to my graphics card. Just got a new Rosewill Photon 750 because of my budget, so hopefully that fixes the problem.

Yeah, but which psu tier?

This statement makes no sense. What do you mean it's not outputting the full 12V rail?

Does anyone think we need a motherboard tier list or is it just me? It may be slightly difficult, because motherboards usually are not junk like many power supplies, assuming they're the four typical reputable motherboard brands (and the few other good ones). It is very hard for me or anyone else to recommend a motherboard out of dozens without really having memorized the specifics on all of them, or reading every single detailed review and knowing the power phases, SATA headers, capacitor quality, etc. A tier list that organizes motherboards solely on quality (and ignoring value, because $50 boards would be at the top) would be a good idea.

Okay well, I found it. Eh, PSUs are much better for a tier list, because the motherboard tier list is basically like "These units are fantastic, these units are semi-fantastic, these units are great, these units are good". Plus value is not a factor. Basically, everything is quite good when it comes to motherboards, though I can name a couple (SLI Krait) that come to mind as poor.

The major difference in the PSU and motherboard tier list is that the PSU list has definitive units you should not buy, such as tier 4 and below, but the motherboard tier list is basically everything is good and better. So really, loses its purpose, because value is much more a factor when it comes to motherboards and budget, whereas with power supplies quality is more important typically than value.

I think people who are on a strict budget for motherboards just need to buy the cheapest one (good brand) with pci 3.0 and their socket. If they want to OC then its very important to have good vrm's etc
