[offtopic]Overclocking is actually such a major expense for little gain. Just think of it, you can get a $50 H110 board, but if you want to overclock, you're going to be spending an extra $80-120 on a board that will probably give your CPU another 0.5Ghz maximum. Plus let's not forget the additional $30 for a solid cooler, or even $60 if the overclock is high. Of course, there are better features with high-end motherboards, too, but strictly speaking of overclocking, we're talking an extra $110-$180 just for that overclock.

I'd personally go with a non-K I7 any day over an overclocked K I5.

90% of the threads created for help on this site can be a solved with 1 Google search.

And btw I don't get it. I saw benchmarks and the Z97S Krait performed piss poor. WHY? Why is it bad? Like seriously, how can you get much less Frames Per Second with this motherboard compared to other boards? Like 30-50 fps we are talking of.

I MEAN WHAT EVEN IS THAT RESULT

I think for OC there are to kinds of people (if they are serious)
1. People who want to OC very little to get a few frames on just an overclockable motherboard and a hyper 212 evo. (usually i3/i5/or fx6300)

2. -Enthusiasts- People with high quality motherboards, a very good i7 which isnt enough cause they do too much editing, they have an overkill or very good watercooling set up and have added 1ghz at least

Yeah I don't know what MSI did with the SLI Krait. I'm not sure how the Z170 one is (I think there is one). It'd be interesting to know what was actually done wrong with this board. I find it incredible alone that the Gigabyte board in the above graph and the MSI crush the others in Hitman. I wonder what exactly causes this.

Maybe It's fixed with a BIOS update or something, there is no updated review to be found I guess. Not as in-depth an detailed as that one anyways.

I know this is off-topic even more, but I'm going to get an XFX R9 290X Core Edition and try to flash it to an R9 390X. I'm wondering what the difference in power draw will be, they say less power draw and cooler temps. On top of that a boost of like 15-20 fps.

The R9 290(X) Reference model looks absolutely dope, it is a big reason why I'm getting it. R9 390X but with that classic reference look (If I can get it to work that is). It is an absolute JET but you don't hear it that much in my system. Had one before.

People really like to swing this one around alot but the truth is that it was fixed with a BIOS update within like 2 weeks o that board's launch.

There is the members systems discussion thread, which sorta turned into a general talk....

About Cooler Master's new, Platinum Power Supplies. Using some new tech if i am correct. I wonder how those will turn out.

Interesting to see your thoughts on this. I have the unit you are describing, purchased in Oct 2013. Was the OEM FSP then?

I've had a fine experience with it so far (FX6300, used to have an HD7770 now i have a GTX960)...no issues with system power, no dead or malfunctioning components, but recently the fan has started to get noisy and is annoying me.

Do you guys ever recommend replacing PSU fans, or should I look for a new unit?

Meh, I'd put it on 4, may even be 3. I can't remember who did the reviews it's been so long, but some of the Chieftecs weren't half bad. Sirtec has a tendency to cut corners on component quality (weren't they responsible for some of the OCZ fiasco?), but the underlying project should be at least ok.
It's 80+ bronze, which is no guarantee of quality (*cough* Coolermaster *choke*), but it's not going to be a tier-5 system-killer.

Thank you all, especially @tiny voices, @Onus, and @stavrosmast. The issue is marked as resolved. The user is located in Germany and was gifted two GTX 980 Ti's. But unfortunately he or she was experiencing stability issues, which I believe is related to his current PSU. I offered him two PSU recommendations from Amazon.de:

Super Flower Leadex gold 850
Corsair RM850i

He opted for the Corsair RM850i.

I disagree. Even RealHardTechX only recommends 850 watts for a SLI 980 Ti setup and they overestimate a good bit. An RMi 850 is fine even with overclclocking.
