Q9550 @2.83
ASUS P5N-D NVIDIA nForce 750i SLI
6gb RAMM DDR2 @ 800
HDD 500 Gb
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 460 OC 1GB GDDR5
NOX Urano 700W
GIGABYTE 3D GALAXY II CPU LIQUID COOLING
but want to sell without the gtx460....but with POV 9800GTX+ 1Gb instead...
anyway i dont think u would pay the price....(if u from US or Canada)

theres nothing wrong with that chip. notch it past 3 and add another 460 or get a better gpu if you want to play higher resolutions.
as u seen i have ASUS motherboard thad had AI Suite on instalation cd.
AI Suite contains aplication named AI booster that oc´s cpu...i have oc-ed in 10%

I think that might be your overheating problem. Unless you do the overclocking in the bios manually, any AI programs or auto overclocking will up the voltage more than you need it. In some cases, I have seen these programs increase the voltage too much for the processor to handle. That could equate to a lot of heat.

Anyway, the Q9550 is a much better gaming CPU and even a very good match for some of the icore series processors. The 12mb of L2 cache makes a huge difference in a lot of games. It certainly edges out the phenom II. Scroll down for the gaming benchmarks. Note that they use a GTX280 for their testing:

The phenom IIx4 at 3.4GHz:

Your CPU vs a core i7 at a slightly higher clockspeed:

As you can see, you are a match, slightly worse, or slightly better, than even current higher end gaming CPUs.

the liquid cooling solved the heating problem....and now i have it oc-ed al time and cpu temp is 50-55 al time

Yep, My bad fixed. The phenom II is the one with L3 cache but the core 2 has a large L2 instead.

And yeah it depends what you are doing. The extra cache definitely makes a difference in a lot of things but in a lot of other things it makes no difference at all. In some of those benchmarks I've looked at, a lot of games notice no difference but there were a couple where there was quite a bit of difference.

An excellent example of cache advantage is the Athlon II vs the phenom II. I myself opted for the Athlon II because of the price and all you got with the phenom was a lot more cache.

Here's two identical processors. One has a higher clockspeed, the other has double the cache:

In most things they are the same. The cache helps the second one edge out in rendering applications by quite a bit. Gaming is also improved, but not enough to justify cost.
