I would set these tarifs, but it might cost alot of money to the cable company. Alot of their profit lost. But it is only fair for the consumer.
$70 for a 10mbit/10mbit uncapped.

$30 for a 3mbit/1mbit uncapped line (or capped at 250GB)

$20 for a 1mbit/256kbit 25GB capped line would do for me

$10 for a 512kbit/128kbit 10GB capped line

The reason why such a ridiculous low $10 price,is because time moves on.
You can't keep on paying $35 for 10GB.. That's what we used to pay 10 years ago for internet!
$10 seems like a good value package for the poorer man.
$25 per month would do for me; I generally don't need more than 25GB anyways.
the $35 package is what we have now.

And the $70 is a good deal for those with higher bandwidth needs!
Capping, or slowing down internet connections is only going to work against the evolution, against small businesses that have a lot of traffic.
It will only make companies consider not having a website for the cost of hosting it might rise too high, and they will have to relay that cost to the consumer,who pays for it in his product.

It's rare that I hope for the government to step in and solve a problem, but I really hope it separates TV providers from internet providers... there is a tremendous conflict of interest at play and that is keeping our internet in the slow (and expensive!) lane. I understand the service TW offers is something they created and they have a right to charge what they please... but in the absence of competition, I'm pretty sure there are laws in place to limit just what they can do. It's total BS how they're just rolling this out in markets where they have monopolies. More than GM... I hope this company fails.

I think the internet should be free. I pay too much already. Between cell phone and cable+internet I pay about $250USD a month. I'm thinking of canceling it all. I haven't even turned a computer on in my house in several days. I get enough computer time at work. The cell phone is a rip off and only provides benefits to my employer who can reach me 24/7 I get nothing out of it. I'm thinking of getting a land line and an antenna, dropping all of this bull and focusing on my life.

The only thing I can say is to look up petitions online and sing them, call your representatives and ask them to put whatever pressure they can.
Calling ISPs might not do anything but it doesn't hurt to try, maybe You'll get a cool person that knows a lil bit and they can tell you about when the caps will be implemented and stuff like that.

ummm this is one of the questions that the big internet companies sees and thinks o people do not think that it is that big a deal to cap the internet. I switched my internet and took a 7mbit degrade to have an unlimited connection while switching to dsl.

I pay about $60 for 15mbps Road Runner turbo and it still bothers me that I pay that much. I will gladly switch to an uncapped dsl with lower speed though if my current plan gets capped.

I pay $50 now for a 1.5 meg/s connection. FIOS just became available in my area and speed tests I've done show 3.0 meg/s for the same price. I would pay no more than that.

Simply put. I should not have to pay for uncapped access, I already have that. My ISP charges me $65 for a 12Mb connection. Charging for bandwidth makes sense, charging for usage does not. AT&T was forced by the FCC to end their price-fix on long distance. AT&T fought tooth and nail to keep their price schemes, and yet, within 5 years of being forced to lower their prices to meet actual demand, they saw their business expand as more and more people could afford that service. The internet was not a private venture, we the tax payer have already paid for the infrastructure, just because TWC and Cox tap into it doesn't justify charging unbelievable rates or pulling caps.

Competition here in the US is like the Gas market (talk about price fixing) One station goes up, and the one across the street instead of thinking, well I will get all his spill over business for being cheaper, thinks why shouldn't I make those extra pennies as well (not like they have any choice!). This is the most depressing state the US has ever been in and I blame the ignorant lazy consumers...

It's amazing that we have to PAY TO UNCAP something. It's even more amazing that we have to pay 60$/month for 6mbps of broadband. Most other developed nations like Japan, Korea and Sweden are paying ~45$ for 20mbps and ~55$ for 60mbps broadband (according to 2008 numbers). All Uncapped mind you. It's absolutely got-you-by-the-balls, monopolistic, highway robery. I refuse to pay any more than what I'm paying now for uncapped, and I feel the 49.99 a month I pay to get 7mbps is unfair as it is!

$55/month 7 down/768k up. I would pay more for a faster connection (say $70-80 max for 10+ down/1+ up), but not for unlimited service. It's overpriced even at that amount - I wouldn't feel that way, but I see them doing nothing constructive with all of the extra monies they are receiving. Now they want to almost triple the cost of current unlimited plans with no increase in speed, service, or other benefits to us? Hah!

I would pay the same I'm already paying for uncapped. Normally, a company is required to add something to the product or service in order to increase it's cost and limit it's usage. This type of behavior is not healthy for our economy, nor should it be allowed by already monopolistic corporations. FIOS is all around my city, so I'll jump ship once it's available. Time Warner, say buh-bye to another $90 package subscriber.

Exactly! This is completely backwards, we started out with hourly usage with dial-up internet, and progressed from there. Cable/high-speed internet started out as speed tiers with unlimited usage. Now we are going back to caps? For a basic 8/2 or 10/2 Mbit connection, I would pay no more than $60 a month (This is draw the line point).
