Already installed it on my personal pc. For a work environnement I will wait for SP1. I think it's a better choice. Of course there is the guy in charge of the tech support who wants us to install it ASAP but I think hes wrong😛

I've been using Win 7 since the RC. Installed 32bit, and only on one drive.

My copy I ordered in June will be here today, and I will install over the weekend. Definately going Raid 0 with 64bit.

Cheers,

-PM

It always cracks me up when people say things indicating a Windows reluctance on the machine that's 'important' or 'must work'. Like Sarda saying he'll wait for SP1 for the work environment. Why do business with MS at all until they learn to properly test their products PRIOR to release? I've kept an XP Pro machine for games but anything serious is done on Linux or MAC. With MS history, why would anyone rush out to be the next paying beta tester?

I've had the RC for a while but only used it temporarily to test it's gaming ability. I'm broke right now but hopefully I'll be working at a GameStop in the next week or so. I'll buy a copy when I have the money. My Vista is probably about due for a reinstall. It ran fine for over a year and a half but it's slowin down a bit and has an annoying issue I can't seem to get rid of. SO, instead of going through the headache of reinstalling Vista, I'll just put up with it for a little while longer and wait till I can afford a copy of 7. I think I'll also install fewer games this time around 😛 I don't play over half of them anymore.

I would like to be installing today but they chose to ship the DVD's today that I preordered 3.5 months ago. They should have had the dvd's in people's hands that preordered so that we wouldn't have to wait while others that are buying at a store get them today. This is a big negative for me from Microsoft after the Vista debacle you would think they would have done Windows 7 right. I guess they will never learn.

I've been running the RC for a couple months now and love it. I'd buy the full version today if I weren't going to one of the IT pro launch events next month (where I'll get a free copy). Go Windows 7!

As far as gaming performance, is it really an upgrade? Nope. So, no, I won't be "upgrading" unless win7 actually improves gaming performance instead of actually being worse in most scenarios.

I have a technet subscription so I already tried win 7.
It is a BIG improvement over windows vista but not so much of improvement over my good old buddy windows xp pro.
Still, I will buy it eventually but I will wait until SP1.

[citation][nom]truehighroller[/nom]Go here people, http://oemlight.net/shop/item/325/.Preferably after I get done downloading mine LMAO. $105 OEM Ultimate 64bit which includes 32bit if need be!!, need I say more....!!! I am hitting 1.8MBs right now and at 28%.Edit: I waited to post this until I was done downloading, have at it people. YEAH~![/citation]
Don't do this it's fraudulent. The company gives you a genuine copy of OEM but then they never gives you a key to actviate it and despite them saying that you don't need it to install it, it still wants to be activated so it does indeed need a key to be actvivated the rest of the way.
I canceled my credit card and made a complaint on complaint.com or what ever that website is.

I have never been taken for a ride before this point. Sorry if I caused any hard ship because of this.

No I won't be running Winders 7. Vista works just fine for me. And I have Ubuntu on a separate partition, which works better than both of them.

Been Running for 60 days, 64bit (legit version that is the RTM).. ONLY issue i have run into, is installing Vmware Vsphere client. (Vmware issure not MS) workaround avaliable.. OTHER THAN THAT, every game, every other box application just works veryy, veryy well. USed vista since day launch of it, and there is indeed a difference. Subtle, yet extravagant. Finally a 64bit os, at right time/ quad core is cheap, ram is still cheap, 1.5TB drives at $115.. Right place/time for it

Of course not. I said "goodbye" to Windows around ten years ago. For today and following weeks I will happily run Fedora 12, as usual.

I have been using the RC on a side comuter used for children's games (and put a few of my own on it as well). I also played with XP mode. The system has been excellent and stable - at least until I changed a lot of hardware at one go, but it's stable again now.

I pre-ordered 7 so I hoped it would be delivered today - still waiting.

So, no, I won't be installing it today, but as sson as it arrives and I have the time to install it (looks like early next week now) I will be movin' on up.

Absolutely. I've been running it for a year now and I got the $10 copy of Ultimate from expertzone and the $49 copy of home during the first preorder promo. I won't be installing it on my current build, and the i7 system is still a few paydays away, but for that I can't wait!

I love windows 7. its everything windows done right that and got rid of everything vista done wrong. Dunno if it's just me, but the OS seems snappier and faster than vista. Now I have yet to load 7 onto my old XP machine to see if it gives it a performance boost, but its tempting. Honestly this is the Windows that shoulda been and hope it will last 7 years from now like their successful XP line
