hi, i have Asus prime b660ma wifi with a 12100.... i was thinking about upgrading to a i5 or even i7 from later generation.
through the News, i saw there is a problem that may cause the CPU to die or burn... whatever the term is.

since intel cpu doesn't have any kind of warranty in my area, is this rational to do such a upgrade? or should I go with 12th gen i5 or i7?

p.s, already installed latest version of BIOS update from Asus web site. 34XX

Oxidation issue is what's plaguing Intel CPU's, so it's a manufacturing level defect not one or two samples but very likely an entire fab process/fab.

You should leave things as is or jump to AMD, IMHO.
so you say its a real problem and intel 13-14 gen may cause problem and should be avoided?
how about high end 12th gen? or 14400 or 13400?
