Question question about FPS and monitor refresh rate

Hi,
if I'm playing a game at 120 FPS and my monitor only supports 60-75 hz refresh rate, does this mean that I'm actually playing in 60-70 fps?

You are actually seeing the refresh rate of the display.....you aren't seeing the gpu frame rate....unless the gpu frame rate is the same or less.

So for instance....with a 60 Hz display....you will never see more than 60 fps.....even if your GPU is capable of more.

yep, and thats why vsync exist, if your gpu is rendeing more frames than the monitor can handle, tearing will happen, in wich you get future and past frames at the same time showing on your screen divided by a line
