Question About M.2 Interface

I'm looking at getting the ASRock Z97E-ITX/ac and had a quick question about M.2 SSDs. This motherboard has a 2230/2242 M.2 slot on the underside. I was looking to get one, as I'm going to build in the NFC S4 Mini, but M.2 makes no sense to me.

When I search for M.2 SSDs at that size, I get a bunch of 3 'pronged' SSDs that look like mSATA to me. The connector on the motherboard has 2 'prongs', so my question is will these 3 'pronged' SSDs work?

Ok, so it looks like the '3 pronged' m.2 is just a reversible m and b key? This motherboard accepting only x2 and Sata I would be safe in assuming as long as it's usable as a b key it'll work? Just looks weird as one key will be out in the open. Thanks for the replies
