Will a cx500m be enough to power this system

Msi gtx 760 tf oc
i5 4440
MSI b85-g41 pc mate (Samed price as asrock b85 pro board but i heard asrock has issues w/ that particular ram kit)
Crucial Ballistix sport 8gb kit
1 ssd
2 hdd
Bitfenix Shadow (has a led lighting on the front of the case)

And is 20 euro really worth the difference between the gtx 760 and r9 270x

500w is plenty, but that specific unit is not the best. It is made with cheap capacitors that fail easily when subjected to heat.


Get a unit from XFX, Antec, Seasonic, Corsair (not, CX, CS, RM)

Yeah i found out about the psu being bad after i bought it, guess i will just wait till it blows so i can RMA it and pick a new psu for the samed price.

When a PSU fails it has a very high likelihood if frying some or all of the other components. Replace it BEFORE that happens.

That is a VERY good PSU. HIGHLY recommended unit. Far better than the CX units from Corsair.

Not generally. The companies will usually be able to tell that they were fried by an over-voltage.

Chances are your PSU will be fine though. Just make sure it gets cool air from over the case and install it in the correct orientation.
