Question about the gtx560 ti

Hello, building pretty much my first gaming rig. Already ordered the parts, should be here tomorrow. Specs :

CPU : i5 3570k / Hyper 612S
MB : MSI Z77A-GD55
PSU : SeaSonic M12II 620W
RAM : Corsair Vengeance LP 1600Mhz / 2x8gb
And a Sharkoon Tauron case.

I have to wait 'till the next paycheck for the GPU, so I thought I'd ask you guys. My interest will be 1080p gaming in maxed out settings, single monitor. So will the gtx 560 ti 2gb vers. be up for the challenge ? Meaning smooth gameplay / no fps issues. Games I'm interested in would be : Crysis 2, Skyrim, Alan Wake, Metro, Bf3 etc. (you know the ones)

My first choice was the gtx 670 but since I want to get a SSD too and I'm on a budget, I dont wanna go overboard. Thanks in advance.

You could get the new 660Ti. Its only 8% slower than the 670 and its like $100 cheaper.

You can even go for the 560 ti 1gb version because gaming on 1 1080 monitor won't actually get use of the 2 gigs vram, or if you really need the best out there, i recommend you to get the Nvidia's new card GTX 660 ti, its much much much faster than the 560 ti, it can run games like your desired ones on triple monitor setup without any issues.....and it costs about 299~349 $ i would really go for it if i were you....but if you are on budget, the 560 ti is a decent choice for 1 or even 2 monitors in 1080 resolution....and good luck

Hmm.. Like Deemo13 said, 660 Ti is a great option too. So you want a 670 and then, you want an SSD, which makes you want to buy the 560 Ti instead. If you think about it again, a 120GB SSD would cost $100 and then a 670 $400. So this mean, you are left with $300, This $300 can be spend on 660 Ti.

Oh yes, if you want to try AMD Radeon cards too, Tom's hardware suggested that 660 Ti is equal to 7870. So you may get the 7870 too for the same 660 Ti price.

Thanks. I've already considered the 660 Ti but prices and availability are a bit different here in Italy and for now it isn't worth it. In the end I'm gonna pull a 360 and go with my original plans - the 670. It's better in the long run, just have to dish out some more cash and wait a bit for the SSD. The only reason I considered the 560ti was the much lower price while fitting my needs, but if I ever feel the need to upgrade to a multi-display setup, the 670 makes more sense.

Good choice the SSD is not really relevant to games play, while a decent GPU will reward you many fold over any loading speed increase etc you might get from a SSD.

Go with 670 and get the SSD later. You can get a 128gb ssd on ebay for quite cheap now a days.

Seems I can get the SSD too along with the 670. Right now I'm stuck between the OCZ Vertex 4, the Samsung 830 or the Crucial M4. What do you guys think ? Been hearing that OCZ is unreliable, that's why I came up with the 2 other choices.

The 830 is a good reputable SSD. It would be my choice as an all-round SSD

I have a 128gb Crucial M4, works/runs great. Samsung makes good products too. I think when prices drop down a bit I'm gonna switch out my 128gb for a 256 Samsung model.
