Hello,

I just purchased an i5-750 CPU, retail version. Will I need to purchase thermal paste to apply to this CPU? Also, is the stock fan sufficient, or should I buy a 3rd party CPU fan? If so, do you have any recommendations?

I looked on newegg for CPU fans that would fit this processor and there was only one, a thermaltake, which got very poor reviews.

Thanks for your help!

Forgot to mention - I plan to OC a bit, but nothing extreme or dangerous (I have never OC'ed before). I'm using an antec 1200 case which is supposed to have pretty good airflow.

Well if you going to oc then i would say scrape off the pre-applied heat sink (thermal paste) and clean with 90% rubbing alcohol (or something like it.) then get some good arctic sliver thermal paste and use that. Would recommend an aftermarket cooler to go with the the heatsink to maximize the cooling affect.
