Question: What is a better vidcard than the BFG 7600GT, 256MB (pci-e), in the same price range?
I bought this for 150 euro's in the Netherlands, I still have a few days to change it. Although all games run nicely on it(except Gothic 3, which is coded poorly), if I can get even better performance for the same money, I will get another one.

Is there any other card that would be a lot better, costing the same? the 7600 series is kind of old, I was told.. I might(just might) spend a little more if with a few 10's of euro's I can get a major peformance boost and longevity..

(I got a asus m2npv-MS mobo, corsair 1024 ddr2 ram and a adm athlon 64 3200+)

Is the Sapphire ATI X1600Pro, 256MB, also 150 euro, better, for example?

X1600Pro gets blown away by 7600GT.

If you can afford to pay a bit more, try to get your hand to X1950Pro. It is WAY better. Downside is that it costs about 190€ (atleast in Finland). Performance increase should be VERY noticable (more than +50%).

For the price range, you have as good as it gets.Anything that outperforms that card will cost significantly more.Have fun.Goodluck.

For 50 euro's more I could get the Sapphire ATI X1900 GT,256MB.
Would it be worth the 50 euro's??

I wouldn´t get the 1900 GT. It´s more expensive than a 1950 Pro AND slower. 8O

edit: I just checked the prices of the 1900 GT and some of them are already cheaper than 1950 Pros (7 Euro cheaper). They might be worth consideration now.

Like already mentionned here, the x1950 Pro (although a little pricier) or the 7900gs if you can get a good deal on it. Both cards would be a good 30-50% upgrade fps-wise.

Taking this from another thread that discussed current video card deals :

x1950Pro

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814131027

7900GS

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=2458745&CatId=1560

At those prices, both of these cards are good deals. Try to find some similar deals amongst the re/e-tailers available in your area.

Cheers
